I’m moving into an intense rehearsal and recording period in August. First up is “Bystanders” for Central Works. It was scheduled to premiere as a live play in October, but is uniquely suited to audio. There is a single moment that is viscerally visual, but the play has a lot of storytelling that lends itself to soundscape, and the climax of the play (the choice) is told through sound.
The play follows two women in the aftermath of a violent event. They disagree about one’s plan to bring about a tipping point to force change and prevent further violence.
The actors are Maria Marquis and Kimberly Ridgeway, my ideal cast! It will be directed by Gary Graves with sound design by Gregory Scharpen. Excited to dig in!
