I am tremendously proud and excited to have been commissioned by the New Conservatory Theatre Center (NCTC) to write a new play for their 2020/21 Season! NCTC was instrumental in launching my San Francisco Bay Area playwriting career when Artistic Director Ed Decker commissioned Andrew Black and me to write a gay murder mystery. Andy and I had a ball on that collaboration, and actually wrote two plays: “The Carol Channing Murders” and “It’s Murder, Mary!” … the latter of which is the play that made it onstage in 2008.
I’m grateful to Ed Decker for again taking a chance on me. NCTC is a model for theatrical programming that promotes both social justice and artistic excellence.
My new play’s working title is “Unavoidable Admissions. It will deal with celebrity, infidelity, identity, and gay Republicans … not necessarily in that order.
