The New Conservatory Theater Center in San Francisco has announced its 2020/21 Season, and the world premiere of “The Law of Attraction” is a part of it! We are scheduled to open January 15, 2021. Pandemic permitting.
The show is sandwiched in between “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” and “The Glass Menagerie,” so no pressure, I guess.
Here’s the marketing blurb: America’s Self-Help Sweetheart, MJ Powers, has built her brand on creating the ultimate guide to the perfect relationship. In real life, her lover Natalie is suing over the personal details in her latest book, her career is on the brink, and it looks like her “ultimate guide” is a jumbled roadmap. A brand new comedy of bad manners, The Law of Attraction explores just how miserable “perfect” really can be.
I love the artwork, and I especially love the cast (hope we get them!). Our director is Nicole Meñez, and I’m very much looking forward to working with her. All this is due to the commission by Ed Decker, for which I’m so very grateful.
